Simon is one of the finest makers in Australia. He began building in 1982 when he became interested in exploring guitar design so as to improve its performance. He describes his instruments as ‘loud, responsive and well balanced’. Marty guitars are played by many leading concert guitarists including Karin Schaupp, Slava Grigorian and Scott Tennant.

His instruments are always powerful and smooth, and this 2006 model is a fantastic specimen. It was recently played by Xuefei Yang who pronounced it ‘as loud as a Smallman’.
